Welcome to GymRivals! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GymRivals mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using our Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GymRivals, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GymRivals is a fitness tracking application that allows you to:

Log and track your workouts, exercises, and personal records
Monitor your body weight over time
Connect with friends and view leaderboards
Earn medals and achievements for your fitness milestones
Share your favorite workout song (PR Song)

3. Account Registration

To use GymRivals, you must:

Create an account with a valid email address
Be at least 13 years of age
Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Harass, abuse, or harm other users
Upload inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
Impersonate another person or entity
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Use automated systems to access the Service without permission

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create (workout logs, custom exercises, profile information). By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

Profile photos and usernames may be visible to other users, particularly friends you've connected with.

6. Fitness Disclaimer

Important: GymRivals is a fitness tracking tool, not a medical or health advisory service. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

Consult a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program
We are not responsible for any injuries or health issues resulting from workouts you log or perform
The app's calculations (e.g., volume, rankings) are for informational purposes only

7. Third-Party Services

GymRivals integrates with third-party services:

Google Firebase: For authentication, data storage, and hosting
Spotify/Apple Music: Optional integration for PR Song feature

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Intellectual Property

The GymRivals name, logo, and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion:

All your data will be permanently removed
This action cannot be undone

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for:

Scheduled maintenance
Emergency repairs
Circumstances beyond our control

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GymRivals and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
